Under your default LinkedIn settings, your profile viewing options are public. Fortunately, you can view profiles anonymously and LinkedIn doesn’t have to notify people when you view their profiles. In this article, we’ll show you how to do just that.
How to Anonymously View a LinkedIn Profile
To view profiles anonymously, all you need to do is change your settings to view in private mode, then you’re good to go.
Here’s what you need to do:
Go to the LinkedIn website or mobile app and log into your account. Click on your profile icon. Select Settings & Privacy. Go to Visibility. Select Profile viewing options. LinkedIn will provide options for you to select what other people see when you’ve viewed their profile. Here, you’ll select Anonymous LinkedIn Member.
When you choose to view in private mode, this feature will erase your viewer history and disable the ability to see who has viewed your profile. This means you will no longer see who has viewed your LinkedIn profile.
LinkedIn also allows you to manage your visibility in other ways, such as your activity. This allows you to ensure that your connections only see what you choose to show them. Check out our guide on how to manage your LinkedIn profile visibility to help make your account more private.
Take Control of Your LinkedIn Experience
LinkedIn is a great platform to use to network and build professional relationships. Most times, networking on LinkedIn requires you to go through various profiles, and in that process you might not want people to see that you viewed their profiles.
Fortunately, the instructions provided above allow you to look through LinkedIn profiles while maintaining your privacy.
